Back in 2015, living with empty nest syndrome, after my two beautiful daughters had left home to start their own families, I came across a coloured pencil workshop being delivered by the amazingly talented artist, Karen Berisford.

Little did I realise that travelling from North Norfolk to the market town of Chesterfield, with its crooked spire, to attend this workshop would reignite my passion for art, which had long since been extinguished by well meaning individuals in my teenage years.

The workshop was mesmerising and for the best part of 6 hours I was lost in a new world of coloured pencils.  It was as if no-one else was in the room. I was in the zone, that perfect place where you are so focused on what you are doing that time stands still, yet you emerge later to find hours have passed by.  I had found my flow!
